Anari

Anari (1959) - Music Review
Lyrics - Shailendra
Music - Shankar Jaikishan

  1. Ban ke panchi - Lata Mangeshkar
  2. Dil ki nazar se - Lata Mangeshkar & Mukesh
  3. Kisi ki muskurahaton - Mukesh

Shankar Jaikishan won his 2nd Filmfare Best Music Director Award for Anari. Interesting he was also nominated for 'Chhoti Bahen' along with S.D. Burman for 'Sujata'. Must have been difficult for the jury to select! Both the Lata, Mukesh duets are classic ones, along with the SJ-Mukesh-RK combination 'kisi ki muskurahaton' & 'sab kuch sikha' are evergreen songs. The song I love the most is 'tera jaana' by Lata.
