Salil got his first and only Filmfare Best Music Director Award for Madhumati beating O.P. Nayyar for Phagun and Shankar Jaikishan for Yahudi. A look at the song list and you think how can a music director of those days create so many unforgettable songs for a single movie. It's too difficult to pick a song as favourite, but I will gather the courage to pick 'zulmi sang ankh' by Lata as my favourite.
